Brooks opted out of the 2020 season, and there were times the Sooners could have used him. Now he will partner with Eric Gray to form a dynamic duo for OU.

2. QB Skylar Thompson, Kansas State

Thompson started off the season well before going down to a season-ending injury early, and he’s clearly the pulse of the offense so he needs to have a huge year.

3. DL Jalen Redmond, Oklahoma

Like Brooks, Redmond opted out last season. He will lead arguably the best defensive line in the Big 12 this season.

4. DB KJ Martin, West Virginia

Martin was hurt early last year after showing some good signs, and with the loss of some key defensive backs to the transfer portal he will be counted on to rebound.

5. OL Wes Harris, TCU

Harris was playing well on the inside last year before going down to injury. He’s the most physical and strongest player on the line, so he’s much needed.
