Ohio State landed one of its top remaining class of 2024 targets when four-star defensive back Aaron Scott announced his pledge to the Buckeyes on Sunday afternoon. The battle for Scott was down to a final three of Oregon, Michigan and Ohio State. Many speculated the decision would ultimately come down to the rival Big Ten Schools - with the Buckeyes besting the Wolverines in the final hours.

Scott is the 19th addition to a Buckeye class that already ranked No. 2 overall prior to his pledge. He joins Bryce West as the second Rivals250 corner from Ohio in the 2024 class.

Prior to his announcement, Scott sat down with Rivals to answer some questions about his decision to become a Buckeye.

IN HIS OWN WORDS...

This was a race to the finish, what made you decide Ohio State was ultimately the place for you in the end?

"Just knowing how much love I've gotten and coach (Ryan) Day had made it clear that I’m his guy."

Were there any Ohio State coaches, players or recruits that you connected with in particular?

"I connected with players like Jermaine Mathews, Malik Hartford and CJ Hicks. The recruits in our class that I connected with the most are Miles Lockhart and Bryce West. I've been saying that I wanted to play with Bryce (West) and knowing that I could team up with him, be the boys from Ohio and become that duo meant a lot. We've had countless conversations about it, so that played a part in my decision."

What does it mean to stay home and represent your state?

"Just knowing that I have kids looking up to me from my home city and state is big and means a lot. Also, knowing the opportunities I can get being from Ohio and by going to Ohio state."

What is your message to the Ohio State fans?

"My message to the Ohio State fans is that BIA (Best in America) is back!"
