ATLANTA — Derrick McLendon is competing at the Rivals 100 Five-Star Challenge presented by adidas inside Mercedes Benz Stadium on Thursday, but that is not all he did.
The 6-foot-4, 225 pound four-star defensive end out of Tucker (Ga.) announced his commitment to Florida State live from the event as well.

He narrowed his list down to Florida, Florida State and NC State a few weeks ago.
Florida State made a quick move with McLendon. The Seminoles did not offer until April 6, a day before McLendon left for his last visit to Florida. He was in Tallahassee (Fla.) the day coach Willie Taggart offered and he returned June 1 for a second unofficial visit.
