Michael Pittman, USC

USC is a mess. Coach Clay Helton took play-calling duties away from offensive coordinator Tee Martin this week and fired offensive line coach Neil Callaway. Quarterback JT Daniels is in concussion protocol and could play against Oregon State if he’s healthy. If not, Jack Sears will get his second start. There are a lot of problems for the 4-4 Trojans.

But Oregon State is not one of them.

This is a Beavers team that has little to no defense and Pittman is USC’s best receiver right now with 27 catches for 561 yards and six touchdowns. The Trojans need this win after back-to-back losses to Utah and Arizona State. These are still four- and five-star players and perhaps this weekend they’ll start playing like it.

Tyler Johnson, Minnesota

I don’t suspect viewership will be high for the not-so-thrilling Minnesota-Illinois game on Saturday – unless you wisely put Johnson in your fantasy lineup. He has emerged as the top receiver in the Big Ten in receiving yards and touchdowns with 807 and eight, respectively, and he’s now seventh-highest in fantasy points among receivers. Illinois’ pass defense is horrid, allowing 287.5 yards per game and 20 touchdowns this season. Johnson could have another breakout weekend as he’s the prime target in Minnesota’s passing attack.

Parris Campbell, Ohio State

The last time Ohio State played a game, the Buckeyes were shockingly blown off the field by Purdue. After a bye week and a lot of time to think about it, Ohio State should be primed and ready to go against Nebraska, which was winless before beating Minnesota and Bethune-Cookman in the last couple weeks. But the Buckeyes are a real team and Campbell is quarterback Dwayne Haskins’ favorite target with 52 catches for 600 yards and seven touchdowns this season. Nebraska is giving up 272 passing yards per game but has only allowed 11 passing TDs all season. One way or another, Campbell should have lots of opportunities.

Greg Dortch, Wake Forest

The over/under line in Wake Forest’s matchup against Syracuse is 75 points, one of the highest of the weekend, so a shootout is expected. Dortch should be able to put up some numbers. The Orange offense has been excellent, so Wake Forest will need to throw the ball to keep up. Quarterback Sam Hartman is getting more comfortable in the Demon Deacons’ offense and Dortch finished with eight catches for 135 yards last weekend in a blowout win over Louisville, although he didn’t score a touchdown. This could be a back-and-forth scoring fest and Dortch should have the ball in his hands often.

Lee Morris, Oklahoma

There is no question that Oklahoma receivers CeeDee Lamb and Marquise Brown are fantastic options this weekend in the Sooners’ game at Texas Tech, which has an over/under line of 78 points right now. That’s music to the ear of fantasy owners. But let’s look at another Oklahoma receiver who could be a steal this weekend in Morris, who only has 12 catches this season, but six have gone for touchdowns. That’s four more than tight end Grant Calcaterra and only one fewer than Brown, three fewer than Lamb. If this is a shootout and the ball is spread around, Morris could have a big game – and he’s only owned in 2 percent of fantasy leagues.
