The quarterback situation at Syracuse was watched closely this past week because Tommy DeVito replaced Dungey against North Carolina and sparked the Orange offense. But Dungey was called upon by coach Dino Babers again this past weekend against NC State - and he delivered in a big way throwing for 411 yards and three touchdowns and rushing for another score in the 51-41 win. Dungey is back and refocused entering the game against a Wake Forest defense giving up nearly 37 points per game. It’s improbable to think this game won’t be a shootout of some kind and that’s good news for Dungey.

It does not take a genius to recommend Haskins, who has thrown 30 touchdown passes so far this season, but he could be particularly effective this weekend against a Nebraska team that is feeling a little better about itself after blowout wins over Minnesota and Bethune-Cookman. The Huskers could come crashing back down to reality in a big way against an Ohio State team looking for statement wins after losing to Purdue two weekends ago. Nebraska is giving up 272 passing yards per game and it just doesn’t have the horses to keep up with all of the Buckeyes’ receiver targets.

Baylor’s defense was horrendous in a blowout loss to West Virginia this past weekend. Cornelius was fantastic in the Cowboys’ upset over Texas on Saturday night. Things could be lining up perfectly for Cornelius to have another outstanding performance in Waco after throwing for 321 yards and three touchdowns and rushing for two other scores in Oklahoma State’s win over the Longhorns. Baylor allowed 568 yards and seven touchdowns to the Mountaineers. The Bears probably won’t be that bad against Oklahoma State, but with teams focused on stopping RB Justice Hill, it opens up more opportunities for Cornelius, who is still owned in only 32 percent of fantasy leagues despite being a top-five scorer among quarterbacks.

This recommendation comes with a warning: Watch the Georgia Tech QB situation this week. If TaQuon Marshall comes back against the Tar Heels, then a decision has to be made whether Oliver or Marshall is the right choice. But Oliver was fantastic against Virginia Tech’s defense rushing 40 times for 215 yards and three scores in Georgia Tech’s blowout of the Hokies. The Yellow Jackets have scored 63, 66 and 49 in their last three wins. I doubt North Carolina’s defense that gave up 4.7 yards per carry to Virginia will be ready for Georgia Tech’s unique offense this weekend. The Tar Heels are 1-6 and look to be going nowhere.

After everybody thought Fitzgerald of incapable of throwing a football, Mississippi State’s quarterback comes out and threw 22 times for 241 yards and two touchdowns and rushed 16 times for 88 yards and two scores in the Bulldogs’ upset win over Texas A&M on Saturday night. Louisiana Tech is not a bad football team but FAU did have 227 rushing yards (six yards per carry) against them this past weekend. LSU went for 218 yards on the ground and five rushing scores earlier this season. Fitzgerald is a fantastic runner and could up big yards again this weekend.
