Justin Fields was off last week, Trevor Lawrence had his bye this week, so next week, both will be in action through the end of the season.
The No. 1 and No. 2 prospects in the country for 2018 again showed why they are ranked where they are on Rivals.com in their last games though.
Lets take a look at the last two Friday nights.
It was business as usual for Lawrence in week three against a very good Atlanta (Ga.) Westlake team with defensive backs committed to Michigan (Myles Sims) and Mississippi State (Tyrese Ross) lining up in the secondary.
That did not affect Lawrence.
He completed 17-24 passes for 281 yards and two touchdowns passing. He also scored a touchdown on a five-yard run. Within the first three minutes of the game, he threw a 46-yard pass to Rutgers commit EJ Turner. It was on from there.
Before being pulled in the second half after starting out the third quarter 7-7 passing and Cartersville (Ga.) end up winning the game 38-5.
Lawrence visited Clemson on Saturday to see the schools he has been committed to since December defeat Auburn 14-6 after his fourth win on the season. Cartersville is off this and they will travel to Cedartown (Ga.) next Friday.
Even with an off week, Fields stayed in the news last week. He announced via Twitter Friday that he was off to LSU for an official visit. That caught the Recruiting Nation by surprise.
Fields is not talking much about recruiting right now, but Rivals.com did confirm he had a good time and that he really liked what he heard from LSU offensive coordinator Matt Canada.
Now that he was back on the field this week, Fields did what he usually does — made plays. The No. 1 dual-threat quarterback in the country led Kennesaw (Ga.) Harrison to a 49-0 victory over Woodstock (Ga.) River Ridge.
He did it with his arm more than his legs in this contest. It was almost too easy.
Fields only played one series into the third quarter before he was pulled due to the score. By that time, he completed 12-19 passes for 275 yards and three touchdowns. He added another touchdown on the ground and he finished with 42 yards on five carries.
It was an easy night for Fields in front of coaches from Auburn and Florida State. He will to take that momentum into next week when they travel to Acworth (Ga.) Allatoona.
