prospects. Along with the players came a number of recruiting storylines. Below
is the latest on give uncommitted prospects from Team Alabama along with notes
on a pair of committed players still checking out other options.
Wilson reiterated that Florida continues to be his leader, with
Alabama, Georgia, LSU and USC among his other top options. It
really looks as if it will be a Gators-Tide battle to land him, but Kirby Smart
taking over at Georgia makes the Bulldogs the wild card. He's yet to take any of
his official visits and said he plans to squeeze all five in following the
holiday dead period.
ATH
Ty Pigrome
Clay, Ala.
The three-star athlete has been playing the waiting game when it comes to a spot
but with several of the coaching jobs now full, his recruitment should clear up
soon. Schools that are in the mix include Missouri, Indiana
and Arkansas State, but other options could open up if he's willing to
move to another position other than quarterback.
WR
Xavier Lane
Montgomery (Ala.) Carver
Lane is a star in basketball who recently shifted his focus to football as well
and he caught the eye of several programs this past fall with his play. He has
offers from Cincinnati and Western Kentucky, among others and recently
visited Alabama. Lane has yet to schedule an official visit but he could be the
beneficiary of a late spot opening up at a Power Five program.
DB
P.J. Hall
Hoover, Ala.
Hall's recruitment remains somewhat of a mystery, with schools like
Minnesota, Memphis, Mississippi State and others as a
potential option. Hall has yet to schedule any official visits and could be the
type of player that waits for a late spot to open at a Power Five school.
TWO COMMITTED BUT LOOKING
WR
Velus Jones
Saraland, Ala.
Jones is still committed to USC, but it's a commitment that could be
broken at any time. Jones said the Trojans aren't on his list for an official
visit and instead he's focused on schools like Michigan and
Tennessee, which he's already visited and others like Notre
Dame, Mississippi State and Oklahoma. The Sooners remain in great
position and could be emerging at the favorite to steal Jones late.
DE
Marlon Davidson
Greenville, Ala.
An Auburn commit, Davidson is still browsing. He's thought to be a very
soft commit and intends to announce some semblance of final choice on Dec. 16.
Davidson is an Auburn legacy but is still considering Alabama and a few other
programs. At this juncture, the smart money is on the five-star defensive end
signing with Auburn but he says he's very much open to considering other
schools. Davidson plans to enroll early at the school of his choice.
