Simms has nice visit to PSU
Wide receiver Marcus Simms has been blowing up over the past couple weeks. The Sandy Springs (Md.) Sherwood stand out was hoping to expanded his offer sheet during a visit to Penn State on Saturday.

"It was nice," said the 6-foot-2, 180-pound Simms. "The campus is big and they have nice facilities. I had a nice time. The facilities were memorable and the stadium was humongous. I think it's the third largest football stadium in the world. The weight room was huge and really nice. The campus was really big and the fan base is out of control. That's what I really got out of it."
Simms got some encouraging words for the Penn State coaching staff.
"I talked to the receivers coach a little bit and he told me that I have a nice skill set," he said. "He told me not to commit anywhere yet and that we would keep in touch."
Simms will visit two schools over the next two weekends.
"I'm going up to Rutgers next Saturday," Simms said. "I'm looking forward to getting to me coach P. We've been going back and forth on social media and it seems like they're very interested in me. I want to go to a school where they really want me so I'm excited to get up there, see what the campus is like and see what Rutgers is about.
"I'll be at West Virginia on the 14th," he said. "They were my second offer. I really like their offense. They play in a conference that throws the ball a lot and it's pretty close to home. My head coach is an alumni from their school so I'm pretty excited to see what it's like down there."
Maryland has hosted Simms more than any other school and, needless to say, the Terps are in good position with Simms.
"I'm very, very, very high on Maryland right now," said Simms. "I said I would say the chances are good that I go to Maryland. I think 'The Movement' is really starting to take hold. They let some big-time players slip out of the state, which isn't good. Once Maryland starts getting some big-time players from Maryland it's going to be pretty special. I talk to a lot of guys and I think quarterback Dwayne Haskins and Tino Ellis are really high on Maryland. Been talking to Haskins and we're going to start getting together to throw."
Last season Simms had about 40 catches for close to 800 yards and was just shy of 10 touchdowns.
