Rivals250 WR Aaron Anderson commits to Alabama

A one-time LSU commitment, Rivals250 wide receiver Aaron Anderson needed little time to figure out his next destination.

Anderson, the nation's No. 16 receiver and No. 126 player in the country overall, gave a commitment to Alabama on Friday afternoon. The four-star from New Orleans (La.) Edna Karr went public with the news during his team's Homecoming victory on Friday night.

The Cougars ran away with their seventh consecutive victory.

The 5-foot-10, 180-pound prolific slot receiver committed to the in-state Tigers last December at the tail end of the regular season. Anderson continued to make visits both to Baton Rouge and Tuscaloosa since then with the Crimson Tide turning up the heat on Anderson after Karr's playoff run last December after his pledge to LSU.

Louisiana native and Alabama defensive coordinator Pete Golding has keyed the Tide's push for the New Orleans standout, who was on hand for the Ole Miss game and returned last week for the Tennessee game just days after Ed Orgeron was dismissed as LSU's head coach.

Anderson backed off his verbal commitment shortly after as Orgeron played a big role in his recruitment to Baton Rouge. After the Ole Miss game, the Rivals250 wide receiver told Rivals that the push from Alabama was giving him pause on his decision.

Anderson described it as "split."

"They're coming hard behind me," he told Rivals, of Alabama. "They really want me, so it's a tough decision to make right now. I think I'm gonna give it to February to figure it out."

Ultimately, Anderson needed much less time once the coaching carousel began to shift. Yet again, the Crimson Tide are plucking one of the best from Louisiana.
