Rivals250 DL D'Antre Robinson flips from Texas to Florida

One of the top interior defensive line recruits in the class of 2024 has had a change of heart. Rivals can confirm D'antre Robinson is now headed to Gainesville to be a Florida Gator.

The Orlando (Fla.) Jones standout defensive lineman originally picked Texas in the summer and signed with the Longhorns in December before future position coach Bo Davis left his post for one at LSU.

Since, Robinson has asked for and been granted a release from his National Letter of Intent with UT. He is expected to enroll at UF as early as Friday afternoon, per a source.

"It's close to home and has always been my dream school," Robinson told Rivals of his Florida decision. "It's just easy access for my family to come see me.

"And I want to make Florida great again."

The new addition adds to a strong defensive line haul for Billy Napier and Florida, particularly on the interior, as Robinson joins LJ McCray and Michai Boireau among those projected to play the position.

Robinson was a key target for Florida both before and after his initial commitment to Texas, and he visited Gainesville at several points throughout his recruitment, even during the 2023 season. The Gators were the runner-ups for the initial commitment but did not slow in pursuing the four-star talent thereafter.

"That was my dream school growing up, I've always liked the Gators," Robinson told Rivals previously.

The in-stater becomes the 19th member of Florida's class of 2024, with his status as a blue-chip recruit pushing the program's class ranking from No. 19 into the top 15 nationally.

As a senior in 2023, Robinson was credited with 79 total tackles, including 10 sacks and nine tackles for loss in anchoring Jones High School's deep run in the state playoffs.
