It wasn’t an easy decision for Tywone Malone but the Rivals100 defensive tackle out of Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic has finally made his choice. He will play football and baseball for Ole Miss next year. Malone’s recent trip to campus really helped him make this decision.

IN HIS OWN WORDS...
“I picked Ole Miss because of their coaching staff,” Malone said. “The players and the coaches are really nice and chill. The way the coaches said they can develop me is really good. Coach Kiffin, coach Watson, and coach Partridge kept in touch with me really well.
“The baseball part of things looked really good too,” he said. “They told me what I could do for their program and how I could help. That was really good.”
“It was nice to know people like Jerrion Ealy and John Rhys Plumlee that have played both sports before,” said Malone. “ I was able to ask them questions about how they did it. That was really good to know.”
RIVALS’ REACTION...
Malone is a huge addition for Ole Miss and their defensive front. Now the second highest rated commit for the Rebels, Malone is part of a big group of signees along the defensive line, which was priority position for Ole Miss in this recruiting class. His versatility to play inside and outside will really help he Ole Miss coaches scheme for various situations. Malone is also pretty advanced when it comes to hand techniques and his understanding of leverage and balance. The strength and conditioning staff won’t have to do too much to Malone’s frame to get him field ready. The overall athleticism that Malone brings to the roster is outstanding. He’s able to create chaos in the backfield and chase down ball carriers that have already broken through the front line. Watching Malone’s development should be interesting due to his insistence in playing baseball too.
