IN HIS OWN WORDS...

"Over a long period of time I got to build a relationship with them," Faulk said. "They offered right after COVID hit the first time and we've steadily gotten to know them from that point until now.

"Coach JP doesn't always call to talk to me," he said. "He calls to talk to my mom and say hey to my brother. We've been talking for a while now so when he does now he talks to my mom too.

"It's just feeling I get when I go there," said Faulk. "I feel like they're trying to pull that program in the right direction and I feel like it's something I could be a part of.

"I want to bring that program back to what it was in 2010 to 2014," he said. "They were competing for national championship. It was a good program back in the day and that's what I want to rebuild."

RIVALS' REACTION...

Florida State needed to bring in an elite defensive lineman this year and that's exactly what they're getting in Faulk. He has all the measurables for an ideal edge defender with great playing strength and a large arsenal of pass rushing moves. Faulk still has room to fill out his frame more but he has the skill set to play right away in certain situations. With his 6-foot-10 wingspan, Faulk does a good job disengaging from offensive linemen and quickly finds the ball carrier. He can slip by blockers easily using a combination of strength, hand techniques, and balance that only elite defensive linemen possess. The Florida State coaching staff did a great job staying consistent with Faulk throughout the recruiting process and those efforts paid off in a big way.
