TEAM WITH TOP COMMITS: Notre Dame

The Fighting Irish have one of the best offensive line classes in the 2020 recruiting cycle and they are already out front with the best offensive line class in the 2021 recruiting cycle. Notre Dame is also one of only two Power Five programs that hold more than one offensive line commitment. The first of the two that has issued his verbal pledge to the Fighting Irish is in-state offensive tackle Blake Fisher. Notre Dame was always going to be the team to beat for Fisher and he committed in mid-June. Greg Crippen, an interior lineman out of IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., committed to Notre Dame in late March.

TEAMS TO WATCH: Texas, Texas A&M, Notre Dame

The state of Texas is loaded with excellent offensive linemen and that should benefit Texas and Texas A&M. The Longhorns already hold a commitment from Rivals100 offensive tackle Hayden Conner and are working very hard recruiting his teammate, five-star Bryce Foster. The Longhorns are also is good position with Tommy Brockermeyer and Savion Byrd. Both are in-state five-stars.

The Aggies might be better position for Foster at the moment and there is a chance they could gain ground with Brockermeyer and Byrd down the road. Rivals100 offensive tackle Donovan Jackson is also a name Texas A&M fans should get very familiar with, as the Aggies are considered one his top teams.

Notre Dame is off to a fast start in this recruiting class and the Irish have plenty of highly rated prospects left on their board. While Brockermeyer is probably Notre Dame’s top target on the offensive line, the Fighting Irish seem to be trending more with Rivals100 offensive linemen Landon Tengwall, Nolan Rucci and Rocco Spindler.

PLAYER TO WATCH: Amarius Mims

While a commitment from Mims may not be right around the corner, it wouldn’t be surprising to see one come from the five-star this fall. At this point he is considered a strong lean toward Georgia, but Alabama was his childhood favorite. A number of other schools are involved with Mims, but it’s fair to say those two conference rivals will be battling for Mims’ commitment until he signs his National Letter of Intent.
