WILL THERE BE A FIVE-STAR RECEIVER FLIP?

Texas won out for five-star wide receiver Jamie Ffrench back in August. He had previously been committed to Alabama early on but backed off his pledge once legendary coach Nick Saban retired. But now the Longhorns are having to fight off a late push from the in-state Florida Gators.

Ffrench was in Gainesville for the team’s big upset win over LSU that has had recruits buzzing. The Gators have real momentum on the trail. Could they pull a late stunner with Ffrench too?

FIVE-STAR TIGHT END TIME?

There are a trio of tight ends inside the top 52 of the Rivals250. Georgia commit Elyiss Williams, Tennessee commit Da’Saahn Brame and Kansas State commit Linkon Cure are all elite tight end prospects for the 2025 class. They lead the charge for a deep and talented group but should any of them be five-stars?

Each has received consideration and is worthy of discussion. Williams has the best traits, Brame is the most polished and Cure has enormous upside. This discussion will continue until the very end of the cycle.

CLOSE FIVE-STAR CALLS AT RECEIVER

This storyline has been brewing all cycle and will continue through the all-star games. Which receivers outside of Dakorien Moore and Jaime Ffrench will reach five-star status? Mississippi native Caleb Cunningham has all the tools to be a future first-round pick but there are serious questions about the competition he faces. Getting him in an all-star game will be key.

Jerome Myles, Vernell Brown, Dallas Wilson and Talyn Taylor are all also under consideration for the honor.

A LOOK AT UNCOMMITTED PROSPECTS IN THE RIVALS250

For elite players in today’s recruiting world it’s late in the game to be uncommitted. But we actually have a handful of wide receivers in the Rivals250 who have not picked a program yet.

The highest-ranked receiver to be uncommitted is South Carolina native Donavan Murph. He’s a recent reclass from the 2026 class so things will pick up quickly for him.

Dejerrian Miller is not too far behind Murph in the position rankings and the St. Louis native remains uncommitted. UCLA is trending for him but his recruitment has slowed down considerably since the summer.
