1. CLEVELAND BROWNS

Garrett is the best player available especially after dominating at the NFL Scouting Combine and the Browns need all the help they can get. The former five-star is an athletic and physical specimen and he could help immediately.

2. SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS

No one believes Brian Hoyer, who was picked up in free agency, is the long-term solution for the 49ers. Trubisky is the best quarterback in the draft and first-year coach Kyle Shanahan needs to start somewhere.

3. CHICAGO BEARS

The Bears landed cornerback Prince Amukamara in free agency so that helps in the back end but Adams is a big-time playmaker who will add much-needed depth to Chicago’s secondary. Getting Mike Glennon means other quarterbacks will have to wait.

4. JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS

Concerns over arthritic shoulders and an average combine will not matter. The Jaguars need help along the defensive line and Allen is the best player available. He had a dominant year for the Crimson Tide and he’s not going to drop far.

5. TENNESSEE TITANS

The Titans addressed a major need with some assistance at safety through free agency but more help is needed. Lattimore is the best cornerback in the draft and Tennessee needs serious help there.

6. NEW YORK JETS

Quarterback is a big question for the Jets because does anyone believe Christian Hackenberg is the future there? Watson might even be the first quarterback taken after a great combine so he’s a steal here.

7. LOS ANGELES CHARGERS

Landing Russell Okung shores up some problems on the offensive line but there are still issues on the back end and Hooker is available. He might even be the best safety in this draft including Adams a few years down the road.

8. CAROLINA PANTHERS

Carolina fans should be salivating at the thought of Fournette and Cam Newton in the same backfield. That could present tremendous challenges to defenses. Offensive line is also an issue but getting Matt Kalil in free agency was big.

9. CINCINNATI BENGALS

Let’s not forget how insanely productive Barnett was during the season even though he didn’t participate at the combine because of illness. Defensive end is a need and Barnett is the best one in a loaded class.

10. BUFFALO BILLS

The quarterback situation is settled for now with Tyrod Taylor coming back and free agency figured out some defensive back issues so the Bills are looking for another playmaker. How about Ross, who had the fastest 40 ever at the combine?

11. NEW ORLEANS SAINTS

The Saints signed defensive lineman Nick Fairley in free agency and that helps but Thomas is incredibly productive and talented across the defensive line. If he’s still available – which might not be likely – the Saints snatch him up to keep revamping the defense.

12. CLEVELAND BROWNS

The quarterback situation is clearly unsettled with Robert Griffin III released and Brock Osweiler reportedly on the chopping block but this is way too high for Notre Dame’s DeShone Kizer or Texas Tech’s Patrick Mahomes. The Browns play it smart and take freak tight end Howard, who was under-utilized at Alabama.

13. ARIZONA CARDINALS

Quarterback is an issue but again Kizer and Mahomes would be a reach. To help aging Carson Palmer, Arizona looks to a big, outside, playmaking wide receiver and there are none better in this draft than Williams.

14. PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

The wide receiver issues were dealt with in free agency so the Eagles turn to another problem – cornerback. This might be high for some when it comes to Humphrey but the Eagles want a cornerback with some size and taking an Alabama defender early rarely seems to be a bad thing.

15. INDIANAPOLIS COLTS

The last time Foster was in Indianapolis he got booted from the combine for arguing with hospital personnel. He learned his lesson and the Colts need playmakers on defense who can also blitz and make lots of tackle. Indianapolis got some help in free agency but Foster is too good to pass up.

16. BALTIMORE RAVENS

Another offensive playmaker would be great but my guess is the Ravens go after a young cornerback with tremendous athleticism. White can help in a lot of ways especially at cornerback where he’s locked down top SEC receivers.

17. WASHINGTON REDSKINS

Who knows what the Redskins do now that quarterback Kirk Cousins wants to be traded and they’re without a GM but help along the defensive line is needed. McKinley is a dedicated workhorse who could be a big help.

18. TENNESSEE TITANS

If the Titans land Lattimore earlier in this round plus the free agency help in the defensive backfield, more assistance at wide receiver would be huge. Davis is a big-time threat on the outside, something quarterback Marcus Mariota needs in Tennessee’s offense.

19. TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS

The Bucs needed a playmaker at receiver so they went out and got DeSean Jackson in free agency. How about a big-time running back who is also fantastic at catching the ball out of the backfield and who could be a big help to quarterback Jameis Winston? Defensive help is needed but it can come later.

20. DENVER BRONCOS

He’s mean, he’s tough, he’s athletic and he’s absolutely needed in Denver. Bolles proved to be the best offensive tackle available and he’ll be the first one off the board here in the first round.

21. DETROIT LIONS

This pick makes so much sense. The Lions need an all-around defensive playmaker and if Williams is still available then Detroit snatches him up. He could be a linebacker, defensive end, pass rusher, cover guy. Williams can do it all even with some off-the-field concerns.

22. MIAMI DOLPHINS - LB HAASON REDDICK, TEMPLE

It would be interesting if Michigan’s Jabrill Peppers proved he can play outside linebacker in the NFL but he’s more of a safety to me after seeing him at the combine and Reddick is a great choice here. That’s the position of need and he’s the best available.

23. NEW YORK GIANTS

The Giants upgraded their wide receiver corps by landing Brandon Marshall in free agency but tight end is a big position of need and Njoku is a physical specimen who could open up New York’s offense even more. Eli Manning should be thrilled.

24. OAKLAND RAIDERS

Oakland needs help up the middle and it befuddles me why more people aren’t talking about Adams, who was very good at the combine. Getting some cornerback help could help the rush as well but Adams is too good to pass up.

25. HOUSTON TEXANS

The Texans dealt Brock Osweiler to basically get his contract off the books. That leaves an even bigger question mark at the position but Mahomes has been impressive and Houston needs to do something. I just think it’s too high for Kizer.

26. SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

Offensive line help is a priority for Seattle and that’s why it went after Luke Joeckel and others in free agency. Robinson could also be a huge addition as some still believe he’s the best offensive tackle in this draft.

27. KANSAS CITY CHIEFS

Inside linebacker is Kansas City’s biggest need and McMillan is a fantastic addition who will be climbing back up draft boards. He’s a playmaker and someone who should be a steal here.

28. DALLAS COWBOYS

The Cowboys have had some misses at defensive end but Harris could be the big-time winner they’ve been waiting for. He has been impressive and seems to be the right pick here although the Cowboys could take a corner, too.

29. GREEN BAY PACKERS

Green Bay needs defensive back help and Peppers won’t fall out of the first round although it’s unclear what position he plays in the NFL. He can be a big safety or an undersized linebacker. Either way, he can provide help on a defensive with lots of holes.

30. PITTSBURGH STEELERS

OK, hear me out here. The Steelers are looking for more offensive threats to help Antonio Brown and LeVeon Bell. McCaffrey is that type of playmaker who can do it all. He can back up Bell in the run game, split out and catch passes. If Pittsburgh is looking for another weapon, McCaffrey is your guy if he lasts this long.

31. ATLANTA FALCONS

This is not a sexy pick but Atlanta needs interior offensive line help and Feeney is a tough guy who fits the need here. The Falcons addressed other issues through free agency so Feeney is a solid late first-round selection who can help soon.

32. NEW ORLEANS SAINTS

Lucky for the Saints, this draft class is absolutely loaded at defensive back and New Orleans needs all the help it can get on that side of the ball. I have Solomon Thomas going there earlier in the draft and now the Saints take the best cornerback available. If Wilson is on the board, he'll come off as a first-round pick.
