Rivals250 safety Joenel Aguero named a top four of Florida, Georgia, Miami, and Ohio State on Monday evening and is ready to announce a commitment later this summer. The Danvers (Mass.) St. John’s Prep will announce his commitment on July 23rd.

GEORGIA
The Bulldogs have been considered at least Aguero’s co-leader for a very long time and there is little that would lead us to change that opinion. The Bulldogs are going to host him for an official visit this weekend and that could push them to become the clear leader for his commitment. Aguero’s longstanding relationships with Kirby Smart and Will Muschamp are the driving forces behind Aguero’s interest in the National Champs.

OHIO STATE
Aguero’s mother has been very interested in the Buckeyes and all of their connections to where Aguero is from has helped Ohio State. His official visit to Columbus is next weekend (June 17th) and it will be interesting to hear his reaction to the visit. Ryan Day and his staff have been all over Aguero for a few years and they’re going to push as hard as they can to get him onboard this summer.

FLORIDA
The Gators picked up steam in Aguero’s recruitment while he was playing at IMG Academy and now he has a few former teammates that play for Florida. That should help the Gators down the road but the coaches down have the strong relationships with Aguero that the other contenders have. With no visit to Gainesville locked in, Florida will need to do everything they can to keep his attention while he is making the rounds to other schools.

MIAMI
Miami is a team to watch in Aguero’s recruitment. The new coaching staff has been working hard to get closer with him and his family and they’ll get their chance to impress him during his official visit on June 24th. Aguero’s relationship with former Georgia assistant coach and new Miami assistant coach Jahmile Addie is playing a big role in his recruitment. We could see the Canes jump up this list after he makes the trip to Coral Gables.
