Peppars stock on the rise

Los Angeles (Calif.) Loyola has had a strong run through the CIF Div I playoffs and will play for their second title in the last three years when they take on Esperanza, Anaheim next weekend. A big reason for the Cubs success has been the play of two way standout Chad Peppars.
Peppars, 5-10, 170 pounds plays both running back and defensive back and is getting looks on both sides of the ball. The athlete has rushed for 1,034 yards and 12 touchdowns and is also one of the state's top cover corners.

Peppars had a strong showing at the Nike camp in Oregon where he clocked a 4.58 in the 40, 3.9 in the shuttle, jumped 35 inches in the vertical and did 10 reps on the bench. He worked out with the defensive backs at the camp and was rated as one of the top three cover men in the event and is getting looks on both sides of the ball.
"We're scheduling home visits this week with Oregon State, Boise State and Nevada," Peppars father Gordon said. "All three schools want Chad to take an official visit as well. Colorado is also recruiting him hard and is calling this week to set up a home and official visit.
"Oregon State is the one school that is recruiting him as a running back. They said they feel he's a great fit for their system. The other schools all like Chad as a cover corner and like his size and physical style of play. It seems Loyola's nice run in the playoffs has really helped Chad and given schools a chance to see more of him."
