LSU is off to a fast start piecing together a star-studded 2026 class.

On Thursday, Brian Kelly and the Tigers added another blue-chipper to the fold in the form of JaReylan McCoy, who declared for LSU over Tennessee and USC during the Under Armour All-America Game.

McCoy, the No. 12-ranked defensive end in the Rivals250 out of Mississippi, has been heavily recruited by LSU and Kelly's staff since he was an underclassman.

"Being from the Sip, LSU being big on you feels good," McCoy told Rivals. "LSU recruited me hard even though they've added players in the Transfer Portal. Those guys make you feel good and make you feel wanted -- and not just needed. They want you to be a part of their team and to help their team grow."

Both Kelly and EDGE coach Kevin Peoples played large hands in courting one of Mississippi's best to Baton Rouge.

LSU's head coach in particular has been a catalyst in this recruitment since McCoy's last visit to campus in November for the Alabama game.

"It's different with LSU," he started. "Coach Kelly keeps it real with you. He's gonna put you in a position to succeed. There's no position he hasn't studied, and that's a big part of it. He studies your game and your gameplay, so when you arrive on campus he's gonna put you in the best position for the team."

The Tigers edged out Tennessee and USC for McCoy's commitment. The four-star DE also made in-season stops at Ole Miss and Alabama this fall.

LSU's defensive line tandem of Peoples and Bo Davis left a lasting impression leading into his commitment.

"Getting to meet with coach Peoples and coach Davis and talking with Coach Kelly again ... They treat everyone like family making sure you're good on and off the field," McCoy said.
