"I was happy about the offer from Iowa, it was my first offer. I was shocked because they are a good school who is always successful and has good teams," he said. "I was pretty excited about the West Virginia one too. That's a lot closer to home, it's only about an hour away from me and I can easily get there. I went to see one of their games and it's crazy there, they have a lot of facilities around there too.
"I don't know too much about Rutgers yet. They weren't sending me much mail and then they offered. I'd have to see them more to see what they are like."
The evaluation period has just finished up for the running back prospect. What are his impressions of the month and who was the prospect impressed with?
"There have been a lot of coaches coming in and out and it's about three a day. Most of the ones that come in end up calling me," he said. "The coaches from Ohio State, Bowling Green and Tennessee all impressed me. I liked talking with them, and they made me feel comfortable and they also told me a lot about their programs."
Besides the visits, a few schools have mentioned they plan on offering the running back including Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Eastern Michigan and Connecticut.
"Out of them I really like Connecticut," he said. "I don't know why, I guess it's just that I know people from my school that went up there and I know their coaches are really cool, they also have a good atmosphere."
McBride plans on waiting until after the season to determine where he'll go.
"I don't want to wait too long, I want to make it soon," he said. "I just want to get it over with and focus on the college I'll be headed to and get ready to go there. I'll probably make it around December."
As a junior, McBride ran for 1,117 yards and 19 touchdowns. He was named first team all-conference.
