The NFL Combine is in the books and with that comes our first post-combine NFL Mock Draft. The Cleveland Browns are on the clock and will take who?
MORE FARRELL: Pre-combine mock draft | Combine review
1. CLEVELAND BROWNS
RB Saquon Barkley, Penn State – The Browns do the smart thing and address quarterback at No. 4 and take the surest thing in the draft.
2. NEW YORK GIANTS
QB Sam Darnold, USC – The Giants think Eli Manning can play for many more years, but they’d be crazy not to grab a quarterback in this draft and Darnold is their guy.
3. INDIANAPOLIS COLTS
DE Bradley Chubb, NC State – The best rush end in the draft goes to a team that needs help badly in the pass rush area. This seems to be one of the locks of the draft.
4. CLEVELAND BROWNS
QB Baker Mayfield, Oklahoma – This appears to be the leader they want under center and he’s one of the elite quarterbacks in the draft, so the Browns address a big need.
5. DENVER BRONCOS
QB Josh Rosen, UCLA – With two quarterbacks off the board, the Broncos know they need one and Rosen is the most polished of the group.
6. NEW YORK JETS
QB Josh Allen, Wyoming – The run on quarterbacks continues as Allen goes to the Jets. New York needs a quarterback and there’s a big drop off from Allen to the rest.
7. TAMPA BAY BUCS
OL Quenton Nelson – Minkah Fitzpatrick and others are available and tempting, but the best OL is hard to pass up here.
8. CHICAGO BEARS
DB Minkah Fitzpatrick – The Bears are thrilled to have Fitzpatrick fall to them here as he was supposed to go top four or five.
9. SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS
LB Tremaine Edmunds, Virginia Tech – The freaky linebacker will be a great fit for the rebuilding 49ers defense.
10. OAKLAND RAIDERS
LB Roquan Smith, Georgia – The Raiders need a linebacker and they would have been happy with Smith or Edmunds.
11. MIAMI DOLPHINS
DB Derwin James, Florida State – They were hoping for a quarterback here but having James drop this far to them is a nice consolation prize.
12. CINCINNATI BENGALS
DT Vita Vea, Washington – They need help on both sides of the line of scrimmage and a freaky and huge defensive tackle fits the mold.
13. WASHINGTON REDSKINS
DE Marcus Davenport, UTSA – The steal of the draft? Could be. The Redskins are happy to have a great edge rusher at No. 13.
14. GREEN BAY PACKERS
DB Denzel Ward, Ohio State – The top cornerback in the draft falls perfectly to the team that needs one badly.
15. ARIZONA CARDINALS
WR Calvin Ridley, Alabama – The need to replace Larry Fitzgerald is on the Cards mind here and no legit quarterback fell this far.
16. BALTIMORE RAVENS
OT Connor Williams, Texas – They were hoping Ridley would be here and they need wide receiver help, but passing on Williams would be too much.
17. LOS ANGELES CHARGERS
LB Leighton Vander Esch, Boise State – The Chargers need help at a lot of positions, but this kid could be a 10-year starter and they can’t pass that up.
18. SEATTLE SEAHAWKS
DB Josh Jackson, Iowa – The Seahawks need a lot of defensive help suddenly and Jackson has the ball skills and size they covet.
19. DALLAS COWBOYS
DT Da’Ron Payne, Alabama – The Cowboys need help in the middle and Payne is a run stuffer who can also flush the quarterback.
20. DETROIT LIONS
OL Mike McGlinchey, Notre Dame – More help on the offensive line is needed despite targeting defense heading in.
21. BUFFALO BILLS
LB Rashaan Evans, Alabama – The Bills decide to go defense with both picks starting with Evans, an elite linebacker who can cover a ton of ground.
22. BUFFALO BILLS
CB Mike Hughes, UCF – They struck gold last draft in Tre’Davious White and now they can pair him with Hughes who has a great skill set as well.
23. LOS ANGELES RAMS
LB Harold Landry, Boston College – The Rams want an edge rusher who can improve the pass rush and Landry has the speed.
24. CAROLINA PANTHERS
WR Courtland Sutton, SMU – The Panthers need more offensive help at wide receiver and Sutton is a big and athletic target.
25. TENNESSEE TITANS
OL Will Hernandez, UTEP – A nasty interior lineman is just what the doctor ordered for this offense.
26. ATLANTA FALCONS
OL Isaiah Wynn, Georgia – Interior line help is needed so taking the local guard they know a ton about makes sense.
27. NEW ORLEANS SAINTS
QB Lamar Jackson, Louisville – They take the chance here and try to strike gold. They have a young team but Drew Brees will need a replacement soon and putting Jackson in that backfield down the line seems intriguing.
28. PITTSBURGH STEELERS
DB Ronnie Harrison, Alabama – A big, athletic safety will help the defense and Harrison is a guy the Steelers covet.
29. JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS
TE Mike Gesicki, Penn State – His combine convinces the Jags to add him to an offense that is looking for additional playmakers.
30. MINNESOTA VIKINGS
OL Billy Price, Ohio State – Despite the need for surgery, they love his fit in their offensive system and feel he’s a steal at this spot.
31. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS
CB Jaire Alexander, Louisville – They need help at cornerback and his combine pushed him into round one despite an average season.
32. PHILADELPHIA EAGLES
CB Donte Jackson, LSU – Just keep adding talent to that defense as Jackson can also contribute on special teams if needed.
