FARRELL'S TOP FIVE WIDE RECEIVERS:
WHY WILLIAMS IS NO. 1:
Williams gets the nod over Davis, but it's close. I like Williams' body control a bit better. He has done it on a bigger stage and he’s a better red zone threat than Davis, while Davis is a bit more physical and a tick faster. It’s a tough call and both will go pretty high in round one.
Williams battled back from a serious neck injury and started to get better last season as the pressure mounted. Davis has simply dominated at his level of competition and has those Terrell Owens comparisons physically, so you can’t go wrong with either. Ross broke the 40-yard dash record and will be tough to handle as a slot guy, but I worry about his durability.
The steal of the draft at wide receiver could be Godwin, who has amazing hands and body control, especially if he slips to round two. Smith-Schuster is a solid receiver but I worry about his “want to." After him, there is talent but a lot of question marks as well. However, this is a deep wide receiver draft and plenty of value will come in the middle rounds.
