FARRELL'S TOP FIVE QUARTERBACKS

WHY WATSON IS NO. 1

This is clearly paralysis by over-analysis by many who don’t feel that Watson is the best quarterback in this draft.

Yes, the interceptions are a bit of a concern, but tell me this – how many games has Watson cost his team with turnovers? How many games has he lost in the last two seasons? Now compare that to how many games he has won with stronger performances in the second half than the first half.

Yes, he has had some great weapons, but he was amazing against the best defense I’ve seen in college football in 15 years when he beat Alabama for the title this past season, and he was amazing last year against the Tide as well. All with so much pressure on him. The guy is a gamer, a proven winner, and is far and away the top quarterback in the draft.

In fact, if there wasn’t such a mad desperation for quarterbacks in the NFL, he should be the only first-rounder at the position this season. Trubisky has talent, but his track record is weak and his resume lacks. After that you’re into projects such as Webb and Mahomes.

And no, I do not have DeShone Kizer in my top five. He has bust written all over him.
