Nagel put up huge numbers

When you pair an outstanding wide receiver prospect with an offense that loves to throw the football, huge numbers can ensue. That was the case this fall for Chicago (Ill.) Marist 2015 receiver Flynn Nagel.
The 5-foot-11, 178-pound Nagel finished his junior season with an eye-popping 103 receptions for 1,504 yards and 18 receiving touchdowns. He also added two return touchdowns on special teams.

This off-season could see Nagel translating those statistics into more scholarship offers. Four schools - Illinois, Indiana, Northern Illinois and Western Michigan - have already offered, but many more teams are showing strong interest.
"I have been contacting a lot of coaches over Facebook and Twitter," Nagel said. "I am going to finish my film here within a week and get that out to everyone. Hopefully I get a lot of feedback on that.
"I've obviously been talking to the four schools that have offered me. I've also been talking, almost every day, to Vandy, Duke, Boston College, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Arkansas and Penn State. I also got contacted by Texas A&M and Stanford and they were wondering if I could get down there in the off-season.
Nagel is considering making visits to Texas A&M, Stanford and several more schools. His goal will be to find the program he clicks with during this off-season.
"I don't really have a main conference or region that I am focusing on," Nagel said. "I just want to see what school feels like home and what school feels right for me.
"I don't want to hold out to see how many offers I get. I just want to find that one school that definitely feels like home for me, whether that is early in the process or later on."
Visits were made to Illinois, Indiana and Western Michigan - all schools that have already offered - but Nagel also took in a Wisconsin game earlier this month.
"I liked it a lot and I definitely like the coaching staff up there," Nagel said. "The game atmosphere was unbelievable. The fans and the crowd, they were unreal. I was really impressed with No. 4 (Jared Abbrederis), the wide receiver they have. The coaches said I kind of relate to him well, so that was a huge compliment."
With numbers like he posted this season, Nagel will likely be receiving comparisons to numerous players across the country in his talks with coaches this off-season.
