Kentucky has flipped the commitment of class of 2025 three-star defensive back Grant Grayton from Minnesota.
Grayton is coming off of an official visit in Lexington this weekend. While Kentucky lost to Louisville by a final score of 41-14, Grayton saw everything he needed to see and was convinced that he wanted to be a Wildcat.
"The reason why I chose Kentucky is because of the coaches' plan for my development and where I could fit and just the overall atmosphere of the school," Grayton told Rivals.com. "They really made me feel at home."
The Our Lady of Good Counsel High School (Olney,, Md.) athlete originally committed to head coach P.J. Fleck, defensive coordinator/linebackers coach Corey Hetherman, cornerbacks coach/co-defensive coordinator Nick Monroe, safeties coach/pass game coordinator Danny Collins and the Golden Gophers in late July.
Kentucky offered Grayton in October and quickly made him a priority.
He will sign with the Wildcats on Wednesday and play under head coach Mark Stoops, defensive coordinator/outside linebackers coach Brad White, co-defensive coordinator/defensive backs coach Chris Collins, safeties coach Frank Buffano and the rest of the staff.
The 6-foot-3, 190-pound Grayton is expected to play cornerback for the Wildcats.
In addition to Kentucky and Minnesota, Grayton garnered scholarship offers from Bowling Green, Massachusetts, Memphis, Temple and others.
Grayton helped lead Good Counsel to a 7-5 overall record in 2024. He played in the Falcons' secondary with class of 2025 four-star safety and Ohio State commit Faheem Delane.
As a senior, Grayton was named as a second-team All-Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC) honoree.
With Grayton now in the group, Kentucky's 2025 recruiting class now includes 21 total commits and ranks in top-25 nationally.
As for Minnesota, the Gophers currently have 21pledges in the 2025 class with the subtraction of Grayton, and rank 55th overall in the team rankings.
