After a breakout junior season at Lake Nona (Fla.) High School, DeAnthony Lafayette is seeing his college football recruitment change by the day.

LSU kicked off the week as the newest scholarship offer for the pass-rushing specialist, and it could take the profile from regional to national in short order.

"I'm shocked," Lafayette told Rivals. "They hit me up last night and said they would call my coach and call me after --- and when he did thats when they offered the full ride!

"Man it is amazing. This is something any kid kid dreams of achieving when they touch the field and for me to get this offer is unreal It's coming from, debatably, one of the best college football programs of all time!"

The Tigers have pushed the three-star's recruitment beyond one dozen scholarship offers, and a trip to Baton Rouge is already in the works.

Lafayette will see Boston College, which offered in mid March, this coming weekend. LSU is set to host him the following weekend and Vanderbilt, another new offer, will get him on campus before the end of the month of April.

Official visit season will following spring football at Lake Nona, and that is where there could be some change to the plans for Lafayette depending on the coming visits and other options that could potentially be added to his list.

Oklahoma has been increasing communication with the junior as he build relationships with the newer programs on his growing list.

Currently, however, there are plans to officially visit Boston College beginning June 6. Vanderbilt, South Florida and potentially LSU are campaigning for trips in June as well.

"It all depends on what happens in the next few weeks," Lafayette said.

As a junior in 2024, the emerging prospect racked up 17.5 sacks and 40 quarterback hurries in just 11 games played.

Lafayette, who sported a 6-foot-10 wingspan at Rivals Camp Miami on March 30, added and interception and a pair of forced fumbles in the banner campaign.
