The Illinois recruiting Class of 2005 has the early makings of being one of the finest and deepest classes ever seen from an overall talent standpoint. Several Illinois bred underclassmen are drawing serious early looks and evaluations, and
Libertyville junior offensive line prospect David Moosman (6-foot-5, 270 pounds) will certainly be near the head of the class in 2005. Moosman has already drawn two Big Ten offers from both Wisconsin and Iowa and Moosman is hearing from plenty of other schools as well.
"I have offers from both Wisconsin and Iowa" said David Moosman. "Last summer I camped at both Wisconsin and Iowa, and both schools have been very interested ever since I camped at each school."
Moosman added that, "It's still very early in the process, plus I'm in the middle of my wrestling season so football recruiting and favorites are still quite a ways off." Moosman is a standout heavyweight wrestler for the Wildcats, and so far in 2003 Moosman has posted an impressive 13-1 record.
"I'm getting mail almost daily from several schools, but I'm getting the most mail from Wisconsin, Iowa, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Miami (Fla.) and Michigan State."
Moosman in his 2003 junior season was named as an All Conference and All Area player. Moosman was also named as a 2nd team All State player by the Chicago Tribune.
