WEEKEND RECRUITING PREVIEW: Which schools welcome the most important visitors?
While the Betting Man usually stays in the Power Five, one of the weekend’s marquee games features a matchup of American Athletic Conference as No. 10 UCF tries to extend its winning streak to 19 games at Memphis. The Tigers are a bit disappointing at 4-2, but this game is a chance to see the best player you’ve never heard of.
Memphis junior running back Darrell Henderson has 934 rushing yards through six games. But because he shares carries with Patrick Taylor Jr., and a majority of their games have been blowouts, Henderson only has 79 carries (13 per game). A quick grab of the calculator puts that at 11.8 yards per carry. No player in at least the last 10 seasons has even cracked 11, so Henderson is on pace for a historic season halfway to the finish line. Henderson also has a 62-yard touchdown catch and a 43-yard touchdown catch this season, giving him 14 touchdowns.
Henderson grew up an hour from Memphis in the small Mississippi town of Batesville and was rated a two-star by Rivals, and now he’s starting to pop up on NFL Draft Boards. This week, he’ll get to showcase his skills against the Group of Five standard-bearer. This will be one to track.
Also showcasing himself this week will be Pat Forde, of the famed Forde Yard Dash and Yahoo’s college football podcast, which Is a MUST-LISTEN, my friends. From the Rivals network, we’ve invited Rick Kimbrel of our UCLA site, BruinBlitz.com. The Bruins either have played or will play four teams on this week’s slate, so we’re interested in his insight. Finally, Mike Farrell will look to keep the Rivals’ analyst team in first place with his picks.
GEORGIA (-7.5) AT LSU, 3:30 ET, CBS
Could this be the week Georgia backup QB Justin Fields truly makes an impact? LSU’s defense is surrendering just 17 points per game and Fields may be called on if the Bulldogs need a spark in a tight game. Georgia avoiding Tiger Stadium at night is a bonus for the visitors, who will take another step toward the SEC championship game.

WASHINGTON (-3.5) AT OREGON, 3:30 ET, ABC
Oregon comes into this game off a bye week following an 18-point win over a ranked team on the road (Cal) and a Stanford loss that was an absolute giveaway. The analytic-types like Washington in this one, but I like how the Ducks have been playing and Autzen Stadium will be frothing. Take the points in a field goal game.

UCF (-4.5) AT MEMPHIS, 3:30 ET, ESPN2
UCF has to go down at some point, right? Not this week, as quarterback McKenzie Milton will keep the ball rolling against a Memphis team whose four wins consist of FBS Mercer, No. 115 South Alabama, No. 120 Georgia State, and No. 130 UConn. (Rankings by Football Outsiders). Memphis took this game to double-overtime last year in the conference title game. This will not be a repeat.

WISCONSIN (+8.5) AT MICHIGAN, 7:30 ET, ABC
Michigan might be the only school unhappy to welcome ESPN's "GameDay" fellas to campus, as the Wolverines are 0-5 in the Jim Harbaugh era with Kirk, Lee and the gang on site. At some point, they'll win one, right? The Michigan run ‘D’, ranked No. 6 in the nation, will be up to the task of slowing Jonathan Taylor. Go with Blue here.

COLORADO (+7) AT USC, 10:30 ET, FS1
Colorado should be proud of its 5-0 start, but it hasn't played a team that will resemble the Trojans. Yes, Laviaska Shenault is a name you should know, as the CU WR leads the nation in receiving. But USC has too much talent, is coming off a bye week and seems to be getting better as the year goes on.

One more that I like:
After dropping to 1-5 in my ‘one more that I like’ this season, I’m taking a week off. Syracuse somehow losing to Pittsburgh in overtime last week crushed my soul. I’ll be back next week.
