Five Mid-Atlantic prospects under the rankings microscope

The fluid process of ranking and re-ranking prospects is heading into an exciting period, the spring camp season. Players will be participating in countless camps, combines and 7-on-7 tournaments over the next few months. Here are five prospects from the Mid-Atlantic that will be under the microscope this spring.

At No. 85 in the Rivals100, Tarburton starts off with a very high ranking based off his outstanding junior film. The camp setting usually isn't kind to linebackers, but we will still be able to learn a lot from Tarburton's performances this spring. He has a great frame and flows to the ball well but the camp circuit will give everybody a good indication of whether the competition his team plays affected how good the Penn State commit looks on film.

We pointed out early in the 2016 season that Anoma would be a player to remember, and schools finally took notice as the year progressed. He showed last season that he can dominate a game using his speed and aggressiveness, but his hand technique was still a work in progress. With Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, Maryland and many others coming after Anoma, it will be good to see where he is when it comes to his overall development.

Dotson was one of the most dynamic playmakers in the country regardless of class but suffered a lower leg injury that forced him to miss multiple games last season. There was always a concern that Dotson would not be able to hold up against the pounding he might take down the road. His route-running and adding more mass are two things we will be watching during the spring. Ohio State, Penn State and a handful of other schools are excited about the possibility of landing Dotson's commitment.

Asiedu has been improving exponentially over the past two years and the offers have been rolling in. There has never been a doubt about his physical gifts, and if he can put everything together we could be looking at a top 10 offensive tackle before the end of the rankings cycle. Asiedu, who is considering Clemson and Penn State among many other schools, should match up with multiple five-star defensive ends during the upcoming camp season.

McNeill is perhaps the hottest recruit since National Signing Day and has an offer sheet that features Florida State, Penn State, Michigan and many others. Listed anywhere from 6-foot-1 to 6-foot-3, McNeill is an aggressive interior defensive lineman with a never-quit attitude and a strong base. First classified as a linebacker and now a defensive tackle, it will be great to see what he can do in person and if he can prove the hype true.
