Eckerson set to announce Wednesday

Last weekend four-star offensive tackle Hutch Eckerson took his fourth and final official visit to Blacksburg. What did the 6-foot-6, 260-pounder out of Lumberton, N.C. think of Virginia Tech and the Hokies?
"It was a great visit, I can't say enough about the coaching staff and facilities," he said. "My host on the trip was Danny McGrath and he's a great guy. We had a lot of fun together and hung out. He basically talked to me about the inside scoop on the team and coaches.

"I also got to meet with coach Beamer and he was really nice to talk to. I had a really good time and he talked to me about the team and their need for offensive linemen."
Eckerson rated his trip to Virginia Tech a nine.
"It was a good trip," he said. "It definitely made me narrow down my choices to South Carolina and Virginia Tech. I've actually already made my decision and I think I made the best one for me. I plan to announce it at a press conference at school at 1:30 PM EST on Wednesday."
The No. 21 offensive tackle in the country is still expecting an in-home visit Tuesday from Steve Spurrier. Eckerson went on to say what he likes about South Carolina.
"I really like how I click with the young guys at South Carolina, while I a lot of the guys I met at Virginia Tech were fifth year seniors."
The No. 9 player in North Carolina can't wait to get a decision behind him.
"My decision is going to come down to how I feel and the best place for me to become the best player I can be," he said. "My parents will back my decision 100% and it feels good to almost have it over, I can't wait to get it done."
