One of the most underrated players in the state of New Jersey is defensive back Jeramy Edwards of perennial power Jackson (N.J.) Jackson Memorial. So where will he end up playing his college ball?
The 6-foot-0, 180-pound senior has helped lead his team to a fourth consecutive Group IV state playoff game. Although he is being recruited primarily as a defensive back, Jeramy is a very good tailback as well. In his first season carrying the ball, he has run for 1,052 yards and scored 10 touchdowns.
“Most all of the schools are recruiting me to play cornerback. A few have told me that I could even play wide receiver.”
Jeramy has set three official visits so far and has a few others pending. He will visit Indiana on Dec. 6 unless his team makes it to the finals of the NJSIAA Group IV state playoffs. Maryland is scheduled for Dec. 13 and Duke is on Jan. 10.
“I’m hoping that the Indiana trip needs to be re-scheduled because that will mean that we made the state finals. Purdue is another team that I might visit as well and Rutgers is of interest as well.”
What about a favorite?
“So far Maryland is my leader. I need to go on my visits before I do anything.”
As a defensive back this season, Jeramy has 50 tackles, two interceptions, three forced fumbles, five pass break ups and one sack.
