Mainland standout just announced his commitment to the Crimson Tide during the All-American Bowl. Mincey chose Alabama over Miami, Florida and Florida State.

"They're a winning program and they're also known for making DBs like myself," Mincey said earlier this week. "I feel like I'd be developed the right away. I hung out with Caleb Downs when I was there. He was really cool."
Relationships with players like Downs and members of the coaching staff were a big part of Mincey's recruitment.
"Coach T-Rob (Alabama's cornerbacks coaches) and I talk a lot," he said. "They're expecting to have a few guys maybe enter the transfer portal and all that. Coming in as a young guy, I know nothing would be handed to me. I'd have to go in and work and get better every day."
Mincey took an official visit to Alabama in October and the Crimson Tide were able to sustain the momentum they gained during that visit all the way until Mincey's commitment.
