Yancy names early leaders

The offer count is really rising for Peoria (Ariz.) Ironwood defensive end William Yancy. Both in-state schools have offered along with Colorado State, Oregon State, Purdue, Utah, UTEP, and Boise State. A top five has emerged for the talented defender.
The 6-foot-4, 223-pounder says that despite picking up a lot offers quickly, he's had a chance to narrow things down as leaders.

"From the offers, it would be Arizona State, Arizona, Oregon State, Purdue, and UTEP," Yancy said. "I also do hear from Oklahoma and Nebraska along with Illinois. They stay in contact with me."
Yancy had this to say about the out-of-state favorites.
Purdue: "I've grown up in a football family and that was always a team we watched. They're a big time school."
UTEP: "I went to their camp and the coaches made me feel home even when I was away form home. That was pretty cool."
Oregon State: "I've only met one coach from Oregon State, but I've talked to them a few times."
A decision doesn't look to be during the summer for the talented defensive lineman.
"I think I'll probably decide midway through the season," he said. "I want to see a few schools before I make a decision. I'll at least take a couple of trips. Location doesn't matter. I could stay home if the situation is right, or I may leave."
