Stanford has been a dream school of Colby Bowman’s for some time so when his offer came this summer the Cardinal immediately became the favorite.

The 2019 three-star receiver from Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco figured he didn’t want to wait any longer so on Sunday he committed.

“Stanford is a very hard place to turn down,” Bowman said.

“The combination of academics and athletics is outstanding. This has been a dream of mine since I was in middle school.”

One of the top West receivers in the 2019 class, Bowman has landed offers from Arizona State, Boston College, Cal, Colorado, Oregon, UCLA, Utah and many others.

The 2019 standout has also done his due diligence when it comes to his recruitment, too, taking visits to numerous Pac-12 schools, seeing Cal a bunch, heading over to UCLA and making sure Stanford was still the best option.

After a recent visit to Stanford for the Arizona State matchup, Bowman said he knew it was the right time and the right place.

“Going up and watching the ASU game really fired me up,” Bowman said.

“They take a lot of one-on-one shots with their receivers and create mismatches which I love. Like I said, this dream is slowly turning into a reality and I can't wait to get up to the Farm and begin to work.”

So far this season, on a loaded Bosco receiving corps, Bowman has 18 receptions for 342 yards and he’s tied for a team-high with four touchdown catches.
