Wicker details recruitment

Joseph Wicker made an early decision to commit to Washington but only weeks later the 2015 prospect has opened up again.
The Long Beach (Calif.) Poly defensive end made it clear at a recent 7on7 tournament that his commitment to the Huskies was soft and now Wicker has rethought his pledge and wants to be open to all the schools recruiting him.

"The reason I de-committed had nothing to do with Washington or anything like that," Wicker said. "I just went a little too quickly and my family wants me to take my visits, take it slow and make a good decision.
"Washington is still being considered. I knew a lot of people that go to that school and that was the big reason why I committed there so early."
The 6-foot-3, 260-pound prospect has decided to slow things down, re-open his recruitment and not rush any more decisions.
Wicker said Washington is still very high on the list but he wants to research other programs, see which other teams offer and then make a pledge much later in the recruiting process.
The Long Beach Poly standout said Miami offered him while he was on an unofficial visit to Arizona this summer. The Wildcats did not offer but continue to stay involved in his recruitment.
Arizona State and UCLA are two other programs showing early interest. At this point, Wicker just wants to focus on his junior season.
"Family is going to play a big part in my decision," Wicker said. "I'm going to take it slow."
