Wellington names early favorite

Brandon Wellington already has four offers and the 2016 athlete from Bellevue (Wash.) Eastside Catholic said one of those teams stands out early on but his recruitment has really just started.
The 6-foot, 215-pound prospect who could play running back, outside linebacker or safety has Washington, Colorado, Oregon State and Washington State on his list and he said Boise State, Florida State and USC are showing the most interest.

Early on, the Huskies have the edge.
Wellington had planned to visit Washington and USC this summer but the Bellevue Eastside Catholic standout only made it to see the Huskies. He still plans to visit USC at some point because he likes the coaching staff there.
"I took a trip to Washington but I haven't visited USC yet," Wellington said.
'The visit to Washington was really nice. I like the staff. The staff is really friendly and being around them and getting to know how they are is really good. I'm getting to know them a lot more."
Wellington likes USC so much because of the coaching staff. He doesn't know much about the school or the program yet but the 2016 prospect is familiar with coach Steve Sarkisian and that staff so he wants to take a trip to USC soon.
"I wanted to go down there and check their school out, look at the campus," Wellington said. "When the coaching staff was (at Washington) I really liked the coaching staff."
The 2016 recruit said the Huskies stand out most early on but so many things could still happen. It's just that Wellington knows the new Washington staff the best and so he's already comfortable there.
'I'd probably go with UW just because I've been there more, checked out their campus and I got to know the coaches a lot," Wellington said.
