MISSION VIEJO, Calif. - Nathaniel Kalepo has been happily committed to Washington.

But the three-star offensive tackle from Seattle (Wash.) Rainier Beach had an excellent visit to USC this past weekend and the Trojans definitely gave him something else to consider as his recruitment continues.

“It was good,” Kalepo said. “I met a lot of the coaches and it was a good experience. I like the campus a lot.

“They just told me if I wasn’t interested to keep it real with them. I said I just have a lot to think about now. I like it out here. It’s warm.”

The 6-foot-6, 305-pound offensive tackle who looked good this past weekend at the Under Armour Camp said he remains happily committed to the Huskies but he does have some thinking to do.

Mainly, Kalepo is going to take a more serious look at USC and Washington and where things stand in his recruitment but he’s also not counting out Oklahoma, TCU and possibly others as the offseason continues.

“I’m still committed, I’m committed but now I have something to compare it to,” Kalepo said. “They’re both really good schools and we’ll see what happens.”

Something else that could benefit the Trojans - Kalepo is a cousin of four-star offensive tackle Jonah Tauanu’u from Harbor City (Calif.) Narbonne who is definitely high on USC at this point in his recruitment.
