Wake Forest added their second commitment of the recruiting season with a pledge from Durham (N.C.) Riverside receiver Marshall Williams.

The 6-foot-1, 164-pounder was really impressed with many aspects of the Demon Deacons program.
"They have a great academic school," he said. "They also have great coaches and people around there that are like family. It's a great family atmosphere and their scheme for wide receivers is heavily loaded for the passing game which is something I think I can thrive in as a player.
"The environment and the campus are really pretty and the people treat you like you're family. I feel like I'm at home at Wake Forest and I know they'll discipline me when I need that. That's what I liked about them."
The staff has mentioned that Williams could potentially see playing time as a true freshman.
"I would like to play my first year, but if I redshirt I'll understand and be more focused that year off," he said. "I think there is a good chance of me going in and playing right away. I'm still debating on graduating early so that I can get in the program early, bulk up and be one step ahead."
The idea to graduate early from high school is a new one for the receiver prospect.
"I can graduate as early as December, but it really depends what my parents think of it and how school goes," he said. "I really can't say either way if I'll do it, but I'm debating it still."
With the obvious hope to play early, what is Williams working on next year to afford himself that chance?
"I'm training a lot harder, but I'll be playing quarterback for our team next year," he said. "I'm working on my footwork and technique. I'm pretty good at beating the jam, but I know it'll be a lot harder in college. I'm also especially focusing on working on my repetitions because you can't practice too much."
Williams expects big things when he heads off to college.
"Fans should expect big things, big plays, touchdowns and wins," he said. "I think I'll bring a hard worker, playmaker, a guy with speed who is not afraid to go over the middle and a wonderful student who is someone that wants to graduate with a business degree.
"I'll be watching Wake's routes and schemes next season to see how they run things. I want to also see the sideline demeanor and hopefully see how they practice."
Williams caught an impressive 53 receptions for 777 yards and 10 touchdowns last season. He turned down offers from schools including Duke and Maryland.
He finished the conversation by saying.
"Pretty much, I'm very happy because now I'm going to Wake Forest."
