Vols, UK offers in for 2017 DB

Class of 2017 Hendersonville, Tenn. defensive back T.J. Carter already has two SEC offers, with several other major programs likely to come by and check him out during the spring evaluation period.
While he's hoping more offers will come, he said he's focused on the two schools that have already offered, Tennessee and Kentucky.

"It was very exciting to get those offers," Carter said. "I was at home and my coach called me to tell me and the first thing I did was call the schools and thank them for the opportunity."
Being a Tennessee resident, Carter said he couldn't help but be thrilled when the Vols offered.
"I like Tennessee a lot," he said. "Tennessee is on the come up. I like Coach Jones and what he has done since he took over. He's recruiting a lot of guys in state and trying to rise up."
Despite growing up in the state, Carter said he doesn't consider himself of the Vols -- or any program for that matter. He said he's just a fan of good football.
"I really didn't have a favorite team growing up," Carter said. "I liked everybody in the SEC, I'm just an SEC football fan."
That's why he was also excited to add the offer from the Wildcats.
"I don't know much about them but I'm thankful that they offered and I want to learn more," he said. "I have some time and I want to take a lot of visits so Kentucky is a school I'm going to take a look at, too."
