USC recruiting Lobdell hard

Wide receiver Lavar Lobdell has had several offers on the table for a while now, but the last scholarship he received was quite a surprise.
The 6-foot-3, 195-pound athlete from Syracuse (N.Y.) Christian Brothers Academy runs the 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds and is a big target that runs good routes and has the ability to stretch the field. Up until recently he had offers from schools like Arizona State, NC State, Wisconsin, Virginia Tech, Pitt, West Virginia and Syracuse.

"I received an offer from USC not too long ago," said Lobdell. "I mean I had plenty of choices before, but Southern Cal is huge. They've got one of the top programs in the country and it's supposed to be in a great area. They're definitely near the top of my list."
Has Lobdell set up any official visits yet?
"No, but I'm planning on taking all five visits unless something really changes. I'm not sure what schools I'll visit yet, but I'm pretty sure one of the trips will be to Southern Cal. I am pretty confident about that."
While he may be excited about the recent offer from the Trojans, don't expect Lobdell to make a decision any time soon.
"I definitely plan on taking my time with this whole process. I'm talking to coaches now, and then I get to take official visits, so things are still really exciting for me. I think I should do everything I can to narrow things down, and I'm nowhere near ready to make a decision."
Lobdell led his team to their third win of the season last Friday night posting a 41-14 victory over West Genesee. In the game, Lobdell posted a 31-yard touchdown reception as well as helped set up numerous other scores in an explosive first half that saw almost all of the teams scoring on the night.
