Updated Rivals100 sees some big movers
The latest Rivals100 has been released, and the number of five-star prospects has risen from 15 to 24.

While the top four players remain in order from the last release, numerous other changes can be found in the rankings.

Two players emerged from outside the previous Rivals100 to earn five-star honors. West Helena (Ark.) Central cornerback Darius Winston got another long look from our analysts and jumped from No. 102 in the nation to No. 19. Winston is pushing longtime five-star Dre Kirkpatrick (No. 13 overall) for top honors at cornerback. Winston is committed to Arkansas and is the highest-ranked corner to commit to the Razorbacks since Ahmad Carroll back in 2001.
Offensive tackle Morgan Moses from Richmond (Va.) Meadowbrook made an even bigger leap from No. 217 to No. 21. Based on his highlight and game films, Moses emerged as the top offensive lineman in the country. He certainly passes the eyeball test at 6 feet 7 and 347 pounds. Moses has offers from Virginia, Virginia Tech, Tennessee, Clemson, Georgia and many others, and currently claims no favorites.
Another big mover is Wheaton (Md.) Good Counsel linebacker Jelani Jenkins, who cracked the top 10 after junior film evaluation.
Jenkins, a 6-foot, 203-pound linebacker with offers from nearly every major program in the country, was previously No. 79. Jenkins, who also runs track, has tremendous speed, plays downhill and loves to hit. While he plays running back on offense as well, his future is clearly as a game-changing linebacker. Jenkins recently took an unofficial visit to Penn State, and the Nittany Lions, Boston College, Maryland, Virginia and many others are high on his list.
Other new five-stars didn't have nearly as far to move. Mansfield, La., defensive tackle Chris Davenport moved up two slots to No. 17 and gained his fifth star. Davenport has offers from all over the country, but will be very hard to pull away from LSU.
Aldine (Texas) Eisenhower safety Craig Loston stayed put at No. 20, but added a fifth star as well. Loston has narrowed his choices to LSU and Clemson.
Los Angeles (Calif.) Cathedral wide receiver Randall Carroll moved from No. 21 to No. 18 and is now listed as a five-star player. Ventura (Calif.) St. Bonaventure athlete Patrick Hall moved from 30 to No. 14. Carroll and Hall are committed to Southern Cal.
Rounding out the new five-stars are Inglewood, Calif., wide receiver Shaquelle Evans and Jacksonville (N.C.) Northside defensive end Donte Moss. Evans jumped from No. 34 to No. 24 and Moss moved from No. 39 to No. 11, just behind Jenkins. Evans hasn't made his college choice yet, but Moss is already committed to North Carolina.
Just missing out on five-star status this time around were Jenks, Okla., cornerback Gabe Lynn, Pickerington (Ohio) Central safety Jamie Wood and Fayetteville (N.C.) Jack Britt offensive tackle Xavier Nixon. Sanford (Fla.) Seminole athlete Andre Debose moved to the cusp of the five stars at No. 33 after being ranked No. 106 previously. Garfield Heights, Ohio, defensive end Melvin Fellows made the leap from No. 163 to No. 29. Wood and Fellows are committed to Ohio State and Illinois, respectively.
Some of the biggest movers in the four-star ranks include Odessa (Tex.) Permian offensive tackle Garrett Porter (not ranked in last 250 to No. 40 now), Miami (Fla.) Palmetto running back Jaamal Berry (not ranked in last 250 to No. 37 now) and Monticello (Miss.) Lawrence County tailback Kendrick Hardy (not ranked in last 250 to No. 50 now). Porter is committed to Texas, while Berry and Hardy remain uncommitted.
Pompano Beach (Fla.) Ely cornerback Michael Carter also moved from outside the 250 to a high ranking, currently checking in at No. 63. Lynchburg (Va.) Brookville School athlete Logan Thomas leaped from No. 145 to No. 35. Neither Carter nor Thomas are committed.
Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei quarterback Matt Barkley held on to the No. 1 spot. Barkley is followed by Lufkin, Texas defensive tackle Jamarkus McFarland, Oxnard (Calif.) Santa Clara running back Cierre Wood and Houston (Tex.) Cypress Ridge quarterback Russell Shepard.
Barkley will play his college ball at Southern Cal, Wood committed to Notre Dame this weekend and Shepard has been committed to LSU since March. McFarland remains uncommitted but lists LSU, Oklahoma and Texas as his top schools.
Phoenix (Ariz.) Desert Vista defensive end Devon Kennard moved up three slots to round out the top five. Kennard favors Southern Cal and Arizona State.
