Much of the state of Georgia is on spring break, so many top prospects are not at the beach, but on the road visiting schools.

Aaron McLaughlin, one of the top 2021 quarterbacks in the Peach State wasn't working on his tan, but he was working on his relationships. He spent Wednesday in Chapel Hill getting his first look at North Carolina.

The Tar Heels pushed the right buttons and are likely to get him back for visit No. 2 later this month.

IN HIS OWN WORDS

"Overall it was a great day," said McLaughlin. "I got to spend pretty much all of the day with coach [Phil] Longo, who I have built a very good relationship with. We even went out downtown for dinner.

"I love the way he runs his offense. I got to sit in the quarterbacks meeting and I feel like I would fit in great in his offense. Talking with coach [Mack] Brown was awesome too; he thinks very highly of me and I think the same of him.

"Also, with it being my first time there, I was very impressed with the facilities and the campus. Everything is beautiful. I could definitely see myself at North Carolina.

"They made a very strong first impression and I am going to try to get back for the spring game."

RIVALS REACTION

This visit was big for both McLaughlin and North Carolina, They really seem to like each other. McLaughlin has a lot of schools wanting him to visit, so for him to say he wants to may it back to Chapel Hill for the spring game tells you how much he likes the Tar Heels. He will be at NC State Thursday, and he is trying to schedule a visit to Georgia Tech next week. McLaughlin has not ruled out a decision this summer, before his junior season.
