Two schools have taken the lead for playmaker Kobe Hudson

THE LATEST: College coaches have found many blue chip football prospects over the years at Lagrange (Ga.) Troup County and their is no shortage there now. Kobe Hudson is is a star there and he will have the coaches coming through those halls for the next three years.

Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia and a few others have already offered this freshman. The 6-foot-1, 183 pound athlete scored 12 touchdowns on offense and one on defense last fall. Early in January is when his first offer came and he now has close to a dozen.

Hudson knew his time would come, but he didn't expect it to be midway through his freshman year.

"I thought I would get offers and I knew it would come with the hard work I put in, but I did not know it would all start this soon," said Hudson. "It is blessing for me to have these offers right now and I just thank God for them. I always keep Him first."

Not only does Hudson have offers his first year in high school, but schools already like him at different positions. That tells you how talented this young man is. Schools like Alabama and Florida State have talked about defensive back to Hudson while the others have talked wide receiver or just an athlete. Position does not really matter to him at this time.

He is a big-time playmaker either way you look at it. Hudson is going to become a national prospect before all is said and done, but for now, he is pulling in offers from schools in his region and one that plays in the ACC and SEC sit atop his list.

IN HIS OWN WORDS: "Right now Alabama and Clemson are my top schools," said Hudson. "I like some other schools too, like Florida State, Georgia and a few more, but those are my favorites right now.

"I was just at Alabama again and over there, it is just a feel of greatness," said Hudson. "You see greatness in the coaches, the players, the facilities and everything there at Alabama. I am only a freshman, but when I am there they make me feel at home, they make me feel important and I feel like I am wanted.

"I was at Clemson when they played South Carolina and I like them a lot right now. They are a winning team and it is important for me to go play for a program that knows how to win. They are always in contact with me and I am ready to get up there Saturday. I like the attention they are showing me right now."

RIVALS REACTION: This weekend Hudson will be at Clemson and this will be the first time he is there when there is not a game being played. He really likes Mike Reed, the coach recruiting him for the Tigers and he is excited about this trip. If there was a school with a slight edge today, it might be Alabama. Hudson was there for a game in the fall and he has already been in Tuscaloosa (Ala.) twice in 2017. The staff has really made him feel like a priority. He plans to visit Georgia for a spring practice in the near future and they are another school to watch. Hudson does not plan to go deep into the recruiting process. As of now, he plans commit a little over a year from now at the end of his sophomore year.
