Two early favorites for Wicker

Joseph Wicker visited Washington over the summer and was offered. Shortly after, the 2015 defensive end from Long Beach (Calif.) Poly committed.
Not long after that decision, Wicker decided to reopen his recruitment. It's not that he doesn't like the Washington program - it remains one of his favorites - but the 6-foot-3, 260-pound recruit said he realized he made a rash decision and didn't want to rush things so fast.

"I was just being dumb and I was just being in the moment," Wicker said. "It was my first offer and I was so excited. I just committed and I went home and I wasn't sure what I did. My parents were mad too that I didn't talk to them about it."
Washington and Miami are two early favorites for Wicker, who also has offers from Arizona and Arizona State. The second time around, though, the Long Beach Poly standout plans to wait much longer before making another commitment.
"I've always loved Washington," Wicker said. "The weather is good and it's a great program. Miami has such a great tradition with all their great defensive linemen like Warren Sapp.
"I'm going to take it to the end. I'm going to wait."
More interest is coming in as well. Wicker, one of the top players in Poly's win over Orange Lutheran last weekend in the first round of playoffs, said he's been hearing more from Florida State, Cal, Florida and Tennessee.
"They've been talking offers and they're very interested," Wicker said.
