Transfer Tracker: Veteran DB Brandon McKinney enters portal

The transfer portal never stops moving. On Thursday, Washington DB Brandon McKinney, a former four-star, officially made himself available and the interest quickly flowed in.
Recruiting: McKinney was mainly focusing on Washington, USC and Colorado when he committed to the Huskies during the summer leading up to his senior season after a visit to Seattle.
With the Huskies: McKinney played in 44 career games at Washington, totaling 40 tackles, one tackle for a loss, one forced fumble and one pass breakup. His one start was in the 2019 Rose Bowl against Ohio State.
Potential landing spots: The grad transfer quickly picked up a good amount of immediate interest, including from Kansas State, Louisville, Colorado and Hawaii.
Farrell’s Take: McKinney has been around for a long time but never broke through as starter for Washington which is a bit surprising. He's a big kid and he can tackle but pass coverage has been an issue overall. But he's a Power Five talent in the right fit and it wouldn't surprise me to see him head to Colorado where they loved him out of high school despite a new staff.
