Five-star cornerback Patrick Surtain Jr. didn't play when Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage traveled to Virginia to play Virginia Beach (Va.) Bishop Sullivan because of slight knee injury. A sprained MCL certainly won't discourage the long list of suitors vying for his commitment.

IN HIS OWN WORDS…

"I'm feeling OK," Surtain Jr. said. "I'm just rehabbing my knee and seeing how it gets better throughout the year.

"Right now I'm standing close to the end of my recruitment," he said. "I'm planning on dropping my top choices of schools soon hopefully that will help me make my commitment from there.

"It'll probably be a top six," said Surtain Jr. "LSU, Alabama, Ohio State, and Florida State will make my top six. I haven't planned my official visits yet but those four will get visits."

RIVALS' REACTION

Surtain Jr. has done a good job of not showing his cards too much throughout his recruitment. LSU and Florida State have long been the favorites here but Ohio State and Alabama a very much in the race. With those four set to make his short list and get official visits, Clemson, Florida, and Miami will be fighting to remain in contention as Surtain Jr. nears the end of his recruitment.
