Top SC safety holds three offers

One of the top stars in South Carolina holds three scholarships at this time. The 6-foot-2, 170-pounder has pulled offers from the ACC and SEC.
"I've got offers from Clemson, South Carolina and Tennessee," Central (S.C.) D.W. Daniel safety DeAndre Hopkins said. "I'm getting a couple other teams to come after me hard including North Carolina, Alabama and Wisconsin."

Does Hopkins like anybody?
"I like Clemson," he said. "It's my hometown and I was raised liking them. It's where I grew up and my uncle played at Clemson, but I don't really have any favorites."
With interest quickly rising, what does Hopkins want in a college?
"I want a college that will make me build my character and make me a better man in life," he said. "Location doesn't matter, I want to be on the East Coast, but not too close. I'm also looking at business for my degree."
The interest for Hopkins isn't just reserved for football as he is a top basketball prospect too that averages 22-points and nine assists a game.
"I'm all-state AAA in basketball and am getting recruited by South Carolina, Florida and Wake Forest. They have all offered me," he said. "Basketball is a major consideration.
"Right now I want to play one sport in college so I can have an offseason and give my body a rest. I am favoring football a bit more right now."
Meanwhile, Hopkins posted nine interceptions as a junior on his way to all-state and AAA western player of the year honors. Hopkins went on to touch on his abilities.
"I think my football IQ is very good as a player," he said. "I'm not the fastest person on the field or strongest, but I know where the ball is and how to play my position well."
