As a recruit: Davis collected his share of offers and seemed poised to let his recruitment play out into his senior year with Virginia Tech and West Virginia heavily involved. But a summer trip to Michigan State opened his eyes and rather than wait any longer, he jumped on the chance to commit to the Spartans. Despite interest from several programs during the fall of his senior year, he never wavered on his commitment to Michigan State.

What he did this week: After seeing spot playing time during his first few years on campus, Davis has blossomed into quite the player for Michigan State in 2017. He and quarterback Brian Lewerke have developed quite the connection and it showed once again on Saturday. In the Spartans upset victory over Penn State, Davis hauled in 12 passes for 181 yards and a touchdown, setting career-highs in both categories. Davis has nearly tripled his career total in receiving yards this season and has been a pleasant surprise for the resurgent Spartans.

As a recruit: A standout early in his career in the Nashville area, Hall collected several early offers from Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, Kentucky and others. But Missouri quickly emerged as the leader for his services and Hall ended up committing to the Tigers over Louisville during the summer prior to his senior season.

What he did this week: An accomplished track athlete in the high jump, Hall has made his living in Columbia by going up and making big catches. He’s been a contributor since Day 1 for the Tigers and is having the best season of his career in 2017. In Saturday’s win over Florida, Hall led all receivers with five catches for 113 yards, his third game of 100 yards or more in SEC play this season. He’s already set career-highs in catches (26) and yards (604) this season and has teamed with J’Mon Moore to make one of the best receiving duos in the SEC East.

As a recruit: Classified as an athlete Pettis saw most of his interest come from Mountain West programs Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State and Nevada. But when Chris Petersen was hired by the Huskies, the staff quickly targeted Pettis and it wasn’t long until he was in the fold for Washington, his lone Pac-12 offer.

What he did this week: Pettis has been a contributor on offense since pretty much Day 1 in Seattle, but he’s made his mark on the college football world with his exploits as a punt returner. In Saturday’s win over Oregon, Pettis returned a punt 64 yards for a touchdown, his ninth career punt return for a touchdown, setting a new NCAA record. In addition to his prowess in the return game, Pettis also caught four passes for 87 yards and a touchdown. He’s just four receptions away from matching his career-high for catches in a season and looks to be headed for the NFL following his college career.
