Three-star safety sitting firm at five offers

With five offers in tow, San Antonio (Texas) Warren safety prospect Joseph Bonugli took to his senior season with purpose and focus. Despite a lackluster 2-2 start, Bonugli has been playing well and expects to see his team's fortune follow suit.
"I think I'm doing pretty good," Bonugli said. "My first game I didn't do too good but these past three games I've been doing a lot better. I personally think we should be 4-0. Those first few games we hurt ourselves with mistakes."

Bonugli has been doing most of his damage in the run game as not too many programs have been throwing the ball.
On the recruiting front, Bonugli still holds offers from Arizona, Colorado State, Army, SMU and Portland State. He is still hearing from several programs and has at least one unofficial visit in mind during the season.
"I'm really hearing from everybody that's trying to recruit me," he said. "They keep sending me mail and I get calls from the coaches asking me to come up and visit the campus and stuff. October 11 is our buy week and I'm going to go up to Dallas and go see SMU and watch their game against Tulsa."
While SMU is one of the schools making the biggest push for Bonugli, he is not ready to name any favorites until he is able to visit some of these schools in person.
"I'm not in a hurry at all," he said. "I like them all right now. I won't know a top three or four or anything until I visit the campuses."
