Thomas has plenty of options
GEISMAR, La. - There isn't a question of Dallas Thomas's abilities, but which position he'll end up at in college.

Thomas, the 6-foot-5 ½, 249-pounder, showed up at the Rivals.com Junior Day at Dutchtown High School and certainly looked like a Division I prospect. It was also easy to see how he's already accumulated scholarship offers from Baylor, Ole Miss, Tulane, Louisiana Tech, and Houston.
Even with all of the early recruiting success, the event was good for Thomas in several ways.
"It was good because I learned about a lot of stuff I didn't know," Thomas said. "Especially the stuff about academics, I learned about the letters and what they mean. It's good to know how to read them so you understand.
"Also, I learned a lot about visits and how they're going to be when I start taking those."
Thomas will get a first-hand experience as he'll be taking his first unofficial visit to Ole Miss for the spring game.
"I just want to get out there and see something different than what I've already seen around here," Thomas said. "I'll probably go to LSU, Tennessee, Ole Miss, and Florida camps this summer."
Originally, Thomas said he was open. However, when asked about the in-state LSU Tigers, he mentioned that they were slightly in the lead despite no offer.
"It's kind of an early favorite, yeah," he said. "It's their football program and their academics. They've just been sending me mail and stuff, but they haven't talked about an offer.
"They want me to come to camp."
So with a large group of offers on the table, is a decision just around the corner?
"I'm going to wait for a while," he said. "No reason, I just want to see about all the offers that come in before I commit anywhere."
Thomas is a member of the Rivals100 to watch for the class of 2008.
