The U, Kentucky, UCF stand out to 3-star WR

Things are starting to heat up for three-star Tampa (Fla.) Wharton wide receiver Auden Tate, as his offer list continues to grow on a weekly basis. Among the latest schools to offer are Miami, South Carolina and Penn State.
The 6-foot-4, 199-pounder said three schools still have a little bit of an edge above the rest.

"I like Miami, Kentucky and UCF," he said.
Tate gave quick-hitting comments on his three favorites, as well as nearby USF.
Miami: "I just like their swag on the field, they're the only school known as 'The U.'"
Kentucky: "I like Coach Scott. He's a cool dude. Plus they just got the No. 4 quarterback from 2014 in their class so they're on the rise."
UCF: "I like Coach Callahan. He's a cool coach. Plus I like the season they just had and it's close to home. They like that I can play outside or inside or maybe even tight end."
USF: "USF was real nice. I like the facilities there. Coach Dugans is a good coach, a cool coach."
Tate said plenty of schools are on the cusp of offering, including Florida, Florida State and South Carolina. While he waits for the potential offers to roll in, he's gong to be busy taking visits and checking out campuses.
"I'm probably going to go up for South Carolina's junior day," Tate said. "And I know I'm going to Kentucky and South Carolina's spring games."
With options both out-of-state and close to home, Tate has a lot to consider regarding when and where he'll commit. He said already has some thoughts on both topics.
"The proximity from home and how far it is and how comfortable me and my family are is important," he said. "I'm probably going to try to announce my decision before the season starts just to get it out of the way."
